There are two types of paper materials: coated and uncoated.
Coated Paper Material #
Coated paper has a glossy, semi-gloss, or matte finish due to a special coating applied to its surface. This coating enhances the paper’s brightness, smoothness, and overall print quality. During the manufacturing process, rollers polish the coated paper, filling in tiny gaps between fibers to create a smooth, even surface.
Benefits of Coated Paper #
- Produces vibrant, shiny, and high-quality prints, making it ideal for brochures, glossy photos, and booklets.
- Prevents ink absorption and bleeding, ensuring sharp and detailed prints, especially for complex designs and images.
- Offers better resistance to dirt, moisture, and wear, increasing durability.
Types of Coated Paper in Stock #
- Art Paper / Art Card: Coated on both sides, available in grammages from 80gsm to 450gsm.
- Art Card (1 Side Coated): Coated on one side only, while the other side remains uncoated and rough.
Uncoated Paper Material #
Uncoated paper does not have any coating or finish, giving it a natural, textured feel with no surface glare. This type of paper retains more texture and depth in colour, making it ideal for certain printing applications.
Note #
Uncoated paper may have slight colour variations when viewed on a screen due to differences in digital display settings.
