Bleed Size & Safe Zone Guidelines #
Each product has specific bleed size and safe zone requirements, which are listed in the product description. These may vary depending on the product.
What is Bleed Size? #
A bleed is the extra margin added to your design to ensure that no unwanted white edges appear after trimming. The color and graphics should extend beyond the final cut size.
✅ Example Bleed Requirement: 1.5mm on each side
If your actual product size is 89mm x 54mm, you need to add 1.5mm bleed on each side:
- Width: 89mm + (1.5mm × 2) = 92mm
- Height: 54mm + (1.5mm × 2) = 57mm
What is the Safe Zone? #
The safe zone is the area where all essential elements (text, images, logos, etc.) should be placed to avoid being trimmed off.
✅ Example Safe Zone Requirement: 2mm away from each side
For an 89mm x 54mm product:
- Width: 89mm – (2mm × 2) = 85mm
- Height: 54mm – (2mm × 2) = 50mm
Key Takeaway #
- Bleed: Extend background colors and graphics beyond the cut size.
- Safe Zone: Keep important elements inside to prevent them from being cut off.
